I'm not much of a list maker unless I get behind on work, but today I was compelled to jot down a list of the top 5 things I love about the Liberty Team. I also need to point out and acknowledge co-owner Holly Sumner as her attitude and enthusiam for screen printing and Team building sets the tone out in production.
So here it is--my top 5
1) They come in early.
Our work day starts at 7:30am, but everyone shows up at 7:00am to have a cup of coffee in the break area and chit chat and strategize before s
tarting their day. What a great way to start the day off on a positive note!
2) They care about you.
The Liberty Team is always looking for new ways to better serve our clients. What always impresses me is that everyone in a screen printing shop has a physically and mentally demanding job, and yet not a week goes by that I don't hear debate about how to improve an aspect of the process to make us more efficient or attractive to our clients.
3) They laugh.
I affectionately refer to my office as my "lair" The lair has two rather large windows that do a decent job at soundproofing. Those windows however, do not seem to be able to block out the roar of laughter and cackling that erupts a few times a day. The eruption never fails to make me peer out the lair's windows towards the production floor to see this hysteria. The Team has their own inside jokes and pranks they play on each other and they live to make each other laugh. Always in good fun, their ability to process the volume of work we do on a daily basis and maintain their Team spirit makes me so proud.
4) They love dogs.
Anyone who has visited Liberty has met Gracie, my beloved rescue dog. She has a larger than life personality and we think she may have been a third world dictator is a previous life..Yes, she even has her own line of propaganda posters.
What most people do not know, is that Liberty volunteers for the rescue Gracie (and her two lazy brothers, Seamus and Gibson, that do not show up to work ) came from, Circle of Hope K9 Rescue.
The Team takes an active role in helping Gracie foster dogs who are waiting for their "furever" homes by pitching in with their care.
5) They say "goodnight"
For me, each day is bittersweet, beacuse at some point, it has to come to a close. I find endless joy in co-owning this company with Holly Sumner and each day begins with excitement but it does not end when the Team clocks out for the day. There is something so special about a group of people who not only take time out to say goodnight to each other, but also to Holly and myself. Some wander into the lair to wish us goodnight-- some pop up at the windows and wave and say goodbye or make a silly face to make sure we are still smiling. Whichever way they do it, means the world to us and this list is just our way of saying thank you and we care about you too.

* A special shout out of thanks to Stacy Morataya-Pilkington for inspiring me to always spell Team with a capital "T" so it reminds everyone how important the Team is*
